The curtain has come down on the 71st Festival de Cannes / Cannes Film Festival 2018, which for the last 12 days has featured artists and films from all four corners of the globe on its screens. Onstage at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, the Master of Ceremonies, Edouard Baer, welcomed the Feature Film Jury presided over by Cate Blanchett, for the announcement of the 2018 winners.

The event culminated on the Red Carpet, where the prizewinners and jury were treated to a live musical surprise by Sting and Shaggy!

Palme d’Or

WINNER: Shoplifters  (directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda)

Grand Prix

WINNER: BlacKkKlansman  (directed by Spike Lee)

Jury Prize

WINNER: Capernaum  (directed by Nadine Labaki)

Special Palme d’Or

WINNER: The Image Book  (directed by Jean-Luc Godard)

Best Actress

WINNER: Samal Yeslyamova  (for Akya)

Best Actor

WINNER: Marcello Fonte  (for Dogman)

Best Director

WINNER: Pawel Pawlikowski  (for Cold War)

Special Palme d,Or

WINNER: Jean-Luc Godard  (for The Image Book)

Best First Film

WINNER: Girl  (by Lukas Dhont)

Best Short Film

WINNER: All These Creatures  (by Charles Williams)

 Special Mention Short Film

WINNER: On The Border  (by Wei Shujun)

 Best Screenplay

WINNER: Alice Rohrwacher  (for Happy as Lazzaro) and Jafar Panahi  (for Three faces)
